The Original "Boom Goes the Dynamite"

Most people have seen the Ball State student newscast from a few years ago that quickly spiraled downhill and is known by many people as one of the worst sportscasts ever. It did, however, coin the catchphrase "boom goes the dynamite." 15 years ago in Quincy, Illinois another sportscast at a local TV station went from bad to worse to absolute hilarity. The 15th anniversary of the telecast was yesterday and the Quincy newspaper wrote a bit about that infamous day in Quincy TV history.

"Boom goes the dynamite!" never gets old. It's the "double rainbow" of the sports world...

That Quincy broadcast looks like any night of the week here in CoMo. Seriously. Haven't watched the local news in a long time, watched a little last night to see the weather for xmas traveling, and there was a news story about a woman being attacked in her home. It takes a real amateur to turn a scary story like that into a knee-slapper, but they did it!
